by Dr. Don Sisk
No other missionary spokesman has been used of God to challenge as many churches and individuals regarding worldwide evangelization as Dr. Don Sisk. He has crisscrossed America while preaching more than 1,300 mission conferences in over 1000 churches. Millions of dollars are given annually for missions as a result of his faith promise mission meetings. There are now hundreds of Christians serving as missionaries who heard God’s call through his preaching. His books have been a blessing to many who have read the messages and acknowledged God’s will for their lives and have willingly done His work. His preaching and teaching ministry with Baptist International Missions, Inc., has included fifty-five countries.
Dr. Sisk is an avid reader. Reading the Bible through yearly has been his practice for decades. He always has books in his possession while traveling. Books related to preaching, missions and leadership, along with biographies and devotional materials, have molded his life for Christ. A special appreciation for books written by some of the great Christian authors of yesteryear is obvious in his writings.
This volume of his writings was first published as editorials of the BIMI WORLD Magazine. Dr. Sisk was the Executive Editor while serving as President and General Director of BIMI. God used these editorials to enlighten minds and hearts regarding God’s command to the church to go into all the world and “preach the Gospel to every creature.” I pray that his passion for a lost world will become your passion and that your heart, like his, will desire to know God’s will and to do God’s work.
From Where I Sat ... is a book that you will not want to stop reading; however, since the chapters are short, you may choose to read them again and again as you pray for the needs of missions and missionaries. Your reading of this book will result in an “attitude check.” Dr Sisk presents a challenging question that demands an answer: “Are you willing to die — to personal rights, criticism, praise, desires and your own will?”
