My consideration of Paul Chappell’s book, Understanding the Times, followed a Sunday night preaching series at Southwest Baptist Church. The series included numerous sermons from Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, and most of the Minor Prophets. I am of the persuasion that Pastor Chappell’s title is very appropriate. God’s people need not fear the times; we need only to understand the times. God has revealed clearly that He will fulfill His purposes upon Israel, upon His saints of this age, and upon an unbelieving world.
